To download a GPS log file using EOS Utility, use Map Utility 1.8.0 or later for EOS 6D Mark II, use Map Utility 1.7.2 or later for EOS 5D Mark IV, use Map Utility 1.7.0 or later for EOS-1D X Mark II, use Map Utility 1.5.3 or later for EOS 7D Mark II, and use Map Utility 1.5.2 or later for EOS 6D. I also have High Sierra (10.13.1) and am running EOS Utility 3 (3.7.0) with a 5D IV (firmware 1.0.4) and even when I tell it I want to shoot tethered (controlled by EOS Utility) it works fine.

We’ve completely re-written the underlying Canon supplied communication code. Removing the Canon code removes FoCal’s reliance on Canon libraries, we’re excited as this means an end to any mac/Canon issues that can happen after a new macOS release! FoCal’s communication to Canon cameras now works in a similar way to Nikon which has been historically more stable with less changes required after a new macOS release.
Replacing the 3rd party Canon communication libraries opens up some exciting possibilities and lays the foundation for some great updates to come over the course of future Reikan FoCal releases. Watch this space!

Download FoCal 2.6 MR1 for macOS by logging in to the LMS at lms.fo-cal.co.uk. Once logged in, you will see a download link to the software.

FoCal 2.6 MR1 is available for operating systems Mac OS X 10.9 – 10.11 and macOS 10.12 – 10.13, for users who are still within their Included Updates Period as at the release date of FoCal 2.6 (15th November 2017). Just to clarify: you will NOT need to purchase a new Included Update Period if you are currently using FoCal 2.6.
